  1. Hi guys,

I was wondering, is there anyway to burn the files ripped with DVD Fab Decrypter with DVD Decrypter.

The reason I ask is that I want to burn the complete DVD onto DL media so all I want to do is rip the disk and burn with DVD Decrypter but DVD Fab does not rip to an ISO.

So if I want to burn to a DL disc using DVD Decrypter is there anyway other than buying AnyDVD (assumming that DVD Decrypter can't rip the DVD)?

  3. Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a shot.

I don't know much about Dual Layer burning so I want to use Decrypter for ease of use and the fact that it seems to consistently keep the disc's original layer break.

If I use DVD Fab Decrypter am I keeping the original layer break?

Also, I have Nero Burning Rom; if I use Nero and DVD Fab Decrypter can I:
    A) keep the original layer break information, and

    B) How do a burn files decrypted with DVD Fab Decrypter on to a DL disc using Nero Burning ROM?

I don't know what happens to the layer break using this combination of software, but I would not trust Nero to put a correct layer break in under any circumstances.

Burning DVD Fab Decryptor output with Nero should be the same as burning an other DVD in Nero. Select the DVD Video template and drop the contents of the Video_TS folder into the Video_TS folder in the template.

I believe there's a page on this off the Pgcedit site, detailing how to use Pgcedit, DVD Decrypter, & Imgburn for DL burning. How up to date or necessary it is I don't know as I've not gotten a DL burner yet.

  6. Does anyone know whether DVD Fab Decrypter keeps the original layer break information after ripping a DVD?

I'm trying to determine if I can use it instead of buying AnyDVD to use with DVD Decrypter.

I tried ripping a DVD with DVD Fab Decrypter and then burning to a DL disc with Nero and it altered the layer break; I'm not sure though if it was Fab Decrypter or Nero's fault. What's worse is that the disc wont play in any of my 3 standalone DVD players; it will only play on my XBOX and PC. By the way Nero burned it as a DVD-ROM.

I also ripped the DVD in ISO mode with Decrypter and then burned with Decrypter without any problem but I'm trying to set myself up for some of the new titles with more elaborate copy protection.

So I guess what I'm trying to figure out is whether i can:

    A) Rip with DVD Fab Decrypter (and keep the original layer break info)

    B) Then use imgtools or folder2iso to convert the decrypted files to ISO while maintaining the original layer break info; or

    C) If DVD Fab maintains the original layer break info whether there is another burning program (e.g. Copy to DVD) that can burn in File Mode and maintain the original layer break.

Thanks in advance for the assistance guys.

Take a look at Imgburn. It takes care of layer breaks.

  8. I guess I was hoping to skip Pgcedit if it isn't a necessary step. I really just want to keep the original layer break on the disc and I guess what I'm wondering is whether DVD Fab Decrypter gets rid of the original layer break when it rips the disc to the hard drive or not.

I was then hoping to either use Copy to DVD (if it will use the original layer break info) or convert to an ISO image and burn with decrypter.

It's too bad Decrypter is no longer updated.

  9. With Pgcedit you can see if DVDFabDecrypter preserve the original layer brake.

  11. Abond,

How can you see if DVDFab Decrypter preserved the original layer break with Pgcedit?

    RottenFoxBreath,

The reason I'm reluctant to go the AnyDVD route is I generally do not like to make online purchases particularly from a less well known vendor such as Slysoft.

SlySoft is far from "less than welll known". It has a trial version you can try first without giving a credit card. AnyDVD is nice, worth the price. I have a low credit limit card that I use for all online purchases only, check balance often, no worries.

  13. I'm not suggesting that AnyDVD is not a good tool or not well known; my point is I don't know how large and how reputable this company is so I'm not necessarily willing to buy the product online. If it was available at a Brick and Mortar store I would hands down purchase it.

  14. plenty of people have bought their programs...and ive yet to hear of any fowl play on their end......normally if a company does something like that, you hear about it..in a BIG way on websites such as this.....ive never read a post about them reguarding any wrongdoing.......

  15. I'm still wondering how is it that I can see if DVD Fab Decrypter keeps the original layer break using Pgcedit?

  16. get anydvd, slysoft have been in business for years, and are very reliable, and there software is ecellent.
you could even go all in for clonedvd,cd etc too.
the only programme that keeps the original layer change intact is dvddecrypter IMO,iso read iso write.
the others just f*ck it royally, especially nero.

Load the original DVD, double click on the movie title (biggest time) and look at which cell there is a break - this cell has special attributes and the layer break would be marked. Now open the decrypted DVD. Compare.
