I noticed that avi files are usually bigger than rmvb/rm files while they have the same quality, so I decided to convert avi to rmvb with winAVI. I made it the same quality, but it ended up doubling the size of the original avi... Isn't the converted rmvb file suppose to be smaller than the original avi??? I'm so confused. Help Please!!!!!!!!!!!

Does winavi ever do what the user wants ?

It is all about bitrate. If winavi won't let you adjust the bitrate then it is rubbish and should be binned in favour of software that lets you control the outcome.

yea, it let me adjust the bitrates. But I want to burn the same quality as the avi, and it suppose to enlarge the converted rmvb file size?

Bitrates is all you can use to control the size. Lower the bitrate and you get a smaller file. You need to find the compromise between size and quality that works for you.
