    I need a .mpa file to keep following the guide at http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=56599

  2. DGIndex can demux an audio stream from MPEG source.

    DGIndex can decode *.AC3 to a wav file.

    DGIndex cannot find a *.MPA that isn't there. It doesn't encode at all. DGIndex is a Frameserver/Demuxer/Audio Decoder.

    You'll have to either demux the *.AC3 and reencode to *.MPA with ffmpegGUI (or similar), or decode to *.WAV and encode that to *.MPA.

    Okay...

    I downloaded FFMPEGGUI Seems pretty simple. For "Audio Source", I hit Browse and click on my .ac3 file. But... then what? For Output, I can hit Browse, but the only file type that appears in AC3 The documentation makes no mention of what to do.

  4. For the destination type.....

    *.MP2 can be renamed to *.MPA.

    *Of course, if you will be using DGPulldown, why not just leave the *.AC3 alone. AC3 seems to be the destination file type of this guide.

    If 0ms DELAY is listed for the AC3 you will be doing alot of work for no benifit.

    --edit--

    The point of using DGPulldown is so you don't have to alter the length of the audio.

    BTW, this guy is the author of both DGIndex AND DGPulldown;

    Because that's what the guide says to do, and because TMPGEnc won't deal with an AC3 file.

    I don't know anything about any of this... all I can do is follow the guide step-by-step. If a step doesn't work, I'm dead in the water until I can get an answer as to why.

  6. Well, it's your dime!

    1. Open the source file;

    2. Set the destination file-type;

    3. Give your new file a name;

    4. Press the convert button;

    This outputs to a file with the extension of *.MP2. TMPGEnc won't have any trouble using this.

    Rename it to *.MPA if you like.
