I have been using an Mp3 recoding software for transfering books on tape to cd's, it is made by Laps Audio.

It is a great program for direct recording to mp3, many sample rates, auto pause, auto flash, VU meters for level setting, a great filter which you can customize. But the best part is there customer service, they have put in some features only because of MY requests. They will answer your emails within minutes usually and modify there program to suit you. How many companys do that? For $25 it is a bargain, it is small, only takes up about 1.5 meg, simple to use, I have pro audio tools but who wants to mess with that for a simple 2 track recording. If you have a need for a simple to use but versitile MP3 recording program give it a try, and if you like it. Please buy it and support a small company that still believes in customer service. And your registration intitles you to future updates, which occur about once a month.

BTW, I was using spin doctor but it only had one sample rate for mp3 recording then I had to convert using Musicmatch box, Music matchbox has direct MP3 recording but it sounds like crap, I compared this software to 3 other programs and this gave equal or better in quality than any of them.
