    I had trouble burning a avi file with Sonic and have recently picked up Nero Ultra 6 and was wondering what program should I use to get the file to put in the video_ts folder

    You don't just "burn" an AVI to a Video DVD. First, it has to be reencoded to DVD specs audio and video. Then, it has to be authored (creating menus and stuff) as Video DVD. Then it can be burned to the DVD media. If you don't want to be bothered with the details, vso divx2dvd seems to be pretty good.
