help with burning DVD

I want to burn my movie to a DVD but I don't know what software to use.Can somebody give me some ideas please

For the best you need a selection of tools - a good encoder, a bitrate calculator, perhaps avisynth or virtualdub, and some authoring software, and the time to learn how to use it correctly.

Does DivxtoDVD support DV files?

Yep. DV, Divx, Xvid, pretty much anything you can throw at it.
