Hello all. Does any know of an inexpensive high quality
AVI/DV to MPEG-1 encoder hardware card for PC/Win2k?
Note, I do NOT want a capture card. Just an encoder.
TMPGenc works great. Just too slow. Thus looking
into possible hardware solutions. Also waiting for
the new Northwood P4 to come out. That will have to
be my solution if I can not find any hardware encoders
at some kind of reasonable price. Thanks a ton!

Like yourself... the same.. I am also looking for it. Check out Ebay sometimes they do have good deals on old stuffs that works as well.... I am thinking of getting LSX MPEG Encoder 3.5... hear it is faster but quality may be a little less than TMPGENC but not too much.. but it is way faster I hear. Need to convert 100+ tapes to VCD/SVCD is the reason for speed now. Yes HW encoders work fast I hear but expensive.... like 10-15 fps.. nice..
