Does anyone know a trick to get RealVideo video files to work in ffmpegx in passthrough mode? WMV would be nice too. I'd like to get a 1-to-1 transfer of the picture, but no luck. Does anyone know if maybe this is a feature planned for a future release?
Thanks

I don't think it's possible, or planned, or a good idea... Since very few alternative players work it would just create more problems than in would solve. (For example, there is only one possible way of playing wmv3-in-AVI on OS X, and it doesn't work with VLC.)
What's your purpose for doing this, anyway? -
As the previouos poster says, this would be a bad idea. Real Video uses its own video and audio format that is not recognized by any other player, so converting it to another container with passthru is pointless. You have to transcode it. Period. Just encode using the same resolution and a bitrate that is equal or higher than the original for reasonable "1 to 1" conversion.
