  1. Hey guys, I just got a Modix 3510 hdd enclosure for christmas along with a Maxtor 250gb hdd. I am currently trying to dump all of my DVDs onto it but am having some problems. First off, I'm not sure the proper procedure for doing this. I first tried using DVD Decrypter in IFO mode. That did not work. Next I tried use the File mode and that did work, for one DVD (Star Wars IV: Special Edition) but not for any others (I've tried The Empire Strikes back and Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story). Next I've tried straight copying the VIDEO_TS folder from the DVD to the external hdd. No success there either. I have tried most all of the settings on the Modix (DVD Menu start is on as is DVD,VCD,PBC) all have yet to yield results. Whenever I try to play VIDEO_TS.IFO, I just get a black screen.

I formatted the hdd via the XP Disk Manager using NTFS and my firmware is up to date. I even referenced the setup details for playing the DVDs on tom's hardware. I don't understand why one would work but the others won't. Any ideas?

Maybe something is wrong with the unit? And I assume you have been to the unit's home page?

One suggestion if you haven't tried it is to rip the whole DVD to the your hard drive with DVD Fab Decrypter and see if you can transfer it that way.

  3. I tried running it through DVD Fab once, but still no dice. I'll try it some more tomorrow, but if anyone has anymore suggestions I'd appreciate them.

^ Yes I have been to the site and it has been little to no help.

  4. I tried reripping it with DVD Fab express but still no luck. I have tried other DVDs and they do seem to work. I can also play the DVDs that don't work via the onboard decoder on my computer off of the hard drive. Thoughts?
