Dr Khan is alive and well, I had the misfortune to bump into him the other day. It wasn't a pleasant experience, he hasn't changed a bit :P

I don't ever find myself tired of flaming at noobs, but if you do feel an onslaught of sleep prevailing while your trying to direct a noob towards the higher understanding and finer points of DVD creations, here's a little tonic you can put together:

:WARNING - I make no guarantees towards the taste. This is stricly a 'WAKE ME UP'! Not responsible for any irritation or creation of ulcers. Do not take if you are pregnant, have chronic heartburn, or have liver disease. Drink at own risk.:

    1 can - RedBull
    1 can - BAWLZ
    1 1/2 cup - Coffee (Black)
3 tbsp. - Red Tobasco sauce
1/2 cup - Jolt Cola (flat without carbonation)
    1/2 cup - sugar
    1/2 oz. - Absolute Vodka

Directions: Place all ingredients, except Vodka, into large pitcher. Gently stir until well mixed. Pour into 12 oz. glass. Drink 1/2 oz. vodka then drink the 12 oz. glass as ability will allow.

  7. I found recently my first account here, the one I created in 2002, when I started lurking and learning before I acquire some "experience" and not post something really stupid.
Since I lurked for so long I forgot my username and I had to come up with another login (this one).
I wish there was a way to fuse those two accounts, so I will keep my post count (I know it's small, don't bash me), and my original member's date.

I think that the guides that will come first will be along the lines of:

    "Multiple DVDs on single Blu-ray/HD"

"Multiple DVDs on single Blu-ray/HD, keeping menus and extras intact"

"700 (or so) VCDs to single Blu-ray"

    posts?

"I just downloaded 5,000,000 files with extensions like 001, 002, 003, etc. (X-men3_kbluray_cam_guywithafroinfrontofme.rar). How do I put them on a brDisc so I can watch them on a television."
    "bump"
    "anyone?"
"35 views and no one knows??? A-HOLES!"

These work wonders but they dont make them in gamecube disk sizes

NOOB = aka Newb, Newbie, Noobie. - 1. a person who asks a question that's virtually common knowledge and then fighting that the answer is wrong on the basis they didn't like what they heard. 2. a person who asks a question that has been answered several times in more than 1 other thread or forum. 3. a person who creates a topic that is blatently in the wrong forum. (IE: Cartridge Console system question in the Media Forum)

SYN. = VETTIE - a person who is a veteran, but asks a question that is virtually common knowledge.....(see definitions above)

Anyone who remembers their history will know the FIRST guides will be for putting BD/HD movies on DVDRs ... but first we must have decryption.

On another note, I can't believe the mfgrs are punishing us with two standards again.

    40 gigs into 9gigs? Now there's a compression nightmare.

(Secretly, this gives me satisfaction since all those quality freaks will be forced to compress. .... or split to 5 disks. )

Quite possible if you change the format, eg using AVI (DivX or XviD) without noticing any quality loss. If you remember, this was the case before DVD Burners were out, people would back up their DVDs on a 700MB CDR in AVI format, or even 2 CDRs.

And the Quality will still be excellent. For example, look at the Region 1 version of T2 Extreme Edition which has T2 playable in High Definition (WMV HD). Its on a single dual layer disc.

The only disadvantage is that its only playable on a PC. Still, you can always hook up your PC to your TV if your TV has HDMI (Output via DVI from GPU)

Thanks for making it simple for the newbies to understand.

Anyway, already got some newbies lurking in OT. This is how you do it courteously.

a discourteous way would be to just laugh and get your friends to post laughs humiliating them to no extent. However, we are trying to help this site move up on the popularity scale and it won't make it that way with "member only" status. So remember, try and make it a pleasurable experience for them. (and I don't mean give your phone number to the rare visiting girls.)
