16:9 and 4:3 video use the same resolution, the aspect is determined by a flag either in the ifo file on the DVD or the header in the video.

Depends on how that software works. A)Some allow you to set the aspect, B)others take it from the header file and c)others don't support it.

    A) I don't have the software so I can't help you there, someone else will be able to if you can.

    B) Does it have the correct aspect in Windows media player or other software if you play the source files?

    C) Either get software that supports 16:9 or you can create your DVD but create a DVD folder instead of burning to disc and manually change it with ifoedit.

Nerovision does actually makes 16:9 into a letterboxed 4:3. I guess play around with the settings...

    1. I guess one could set Nero to "4:3", encode, demux the VOB, run restream set the "16:9" flag, remux and author.
    2. There might be a way just to use IFO editor PGC edit on the files created with Nero. I guess the coalman mentioned the IFO thing.

Please note that I am just specualting about some possible work arounds. You might try encoding with "4:3" then modifying the IFO with IFOedit and set it to 16:9. I am going to be testing IFOedit with some material was encoded @ 4:3 but looks like it needs to be 16:9.
