    Is there a Stand-Alone DVD-R Recorder that will record both a NTSC and a PAL format disc that is readily available in the USA?

    I am currently using a Pioneer DVR-7000 with excellent results provided I use the right type of media.. But it ONLY records an NTSC signal in NTSC.

    I know of some Panasonic units do this.. alas I don't think that version of the E10 or E20 is sold here.

    Yes.

    The Centrios EDW-8020. It does NTSC to NTSC, or PAL to PAL.

    There is not a recorder anywhere in the world that does PAL to NTSC, or NTSC to PAL, as far as I know.
