  1. Hey guys I have a little bit of a problem. I have my creative sound card connected to my HT receiver through a coaxial connection. Previously (like a week ago) I was getting 192 khz and my receiver said that it could use left right center surround left surround right. Now, I can only get 96 khz and my receiver only uses Left and Right speakers. I know for sure that my sound card can get 192 khz because it says so in the manual.

I'm not quite sure how an SPDIF connection works, but I think some software is restricting the audio output to 96 khz. I have a feeling it is this stupid creative software. I have messed with a lot of the creative settings to no avail.

If anybody can help I would very much appreciate it

I also have a creative card.

Go to Control Panel --> AudioHQ --> Device Controls -->Click on the Sampling Rates tab, choose the sampling rate. If 192kHz is not shown, then you're card simplay cant output 192kHz via digital output.

Though some creative cards do support 192kHz, (mine does) it does not mean you can output 192kHz. I think creative only allow 96kHz to be outputted via digital.

192kHz is achieved though analog for DVD Audio that are 24bit, 192kHz.

Ive never been able to use above 96kHz for digital and there is no option under creative settings that would allow me to do so either.

  3. Interesting. I thought for sure I saw 192 khz on my receiver but maybe I was dreaming. Is there any third party software I can use for configuring audio output? I have ffdshow installed. Is there any tutorials for configuring audio output throught that? Sorry for the questions, but I would like to get the absolute best quality audio.

    Thanks
