  1. I need some utility to repair mpeg2 files recorded from satellite via DVB SkyStar card. Some files have so serious errors, so they even can't be reencoded, reencoding program hangs or crashes. So far I tried ProjectX (no use seems to me) and PVAStrumento - better, but repairing damages sound sync. Maybe there's some setting to improve this, but I didn't find it. Please recommend me something. Thanks.

I would just like to ask, is the remedy here a simple "GOP fix"? Is MPEG-VCR's GOP fixer doing the same thing as VideoReDo's Quickstream Fix?

Would something like this be recommended for all mpegs before burning to DVD? Or is that overkill?

If you need a more versatile/professional video repair tool you should try the HD-VRT from grauonline.de.
After a corrupted 3TB harddrive crash I had recovered my files with Filerecovery for Windows and- they were still corrupted
Alas HD-VRT is shareware, but I got reasonable results for the MPEG2 and HD-MP4 videos with it.
