    hello...
    i own a Sony dvd player (DVP-NS32) which supports DivX.
    on this site i found out that it also supports xviD if you "change the file header".

    I don't know what that means exactly though...

    can anyone help me with this?

    You could just try them and see if they work. If they don't, I believe the app you are looking for is MPEG4 Modifier.
