Please help, i have put three clips into TDA to play as one combined and also added an MP3 file for background music, but the MP3 track restarts every time there is a join in the clips, DO i have to merge the clips before putting it into TDA or what

If you want your audio to span the total running time of the clips, then yes.

I didn't think TDA would accept MP3 as it's not DVD spec.

    It may reencode it.

How did you join the video clips?

Using TDA i add a new clip every time, (ie all the clips go into one file)then cut the frames either side of ther join, and then.........CREATE the VOB file. THEN i reopen TDA and load in the newly created (joined files) then add the audio track to the ONE BIG FILE. but still no success. ID probably be better using WINDOWS MM but all the clips i want to use are in VOB format and converting them back to an AVI seems pointless and aslo the ones that i have tried either skip or loose quality, ANY SUGGESTIONS

I've never tried joining files in TDA, but it sounds like that should have worked. At this point I'm not sure where to go next, but maybe some exploratory questions might spark something.
How long is each clip by itself?
How long is the total video (when all the clips are joined)
How long is the music file?
When you pull the newly created VOB into TDA does it already have chapter points? (Or are you prompted to preserve chapter points?)
Why do you "cut the frames either side of ther join"?
How many frames are you cutting?

(Like I said, this is just exploratory. I'm not sure if the answers to any of these questions will give us a clue, but you never know.)

the clips are only about 15-30 seconds long, and to make the join a bit smoother i take the frames either side of the join out, the whole file is INTENDED to be about 15-20 mins long but im just trying it out ao i know it can be done, the audio track is about 2 minutes long. and hve deleted all the chapter point out, Thanks very much for trying to help me out, its much appreciated!!!

When you say you deleted the chapter points out do you mean before creating the VOB, or when importing the newly created VOB?
There may be an issue with the music length being different. Whenever I've added a seperate audio file it was always the same length as the video file I was working with.

I don't think I've ever seen little marker arrows like that in my timelines. What version of TDA are you using? Also, under the slidebar there is a mark that indicates that there is a chapter point close to that position, so I don't think you've removed all the chapter points.

Well, you could use TDA to convert the VOBs back to MPG and then edit/join the MPGs using something like TMPGEnc MPEG tools. This process shouldn't require re-encoding so there should be no loss in quality.
