    Alright, I'm a newbie to this and have succesfully ripped my first DVD to VCD!! But now I have a dilemma, how do I rip a DVD to divx? I can use whatever software is necessary and I have heard you need VirtualDub? Oh well, thanks a lot!

    There are several very detailed guides with illustrations at doom9's site. That would be a good place to start: http://www.doom9.net
