  1. i have a mpg that i made with MVW. now i want to put audio commentary on it. but i want it to be able to turn off and on, so you can watch the movie with no commentary. how can i do this?

i was looking at MVW and i saw this (look at the two red boxs)

will this options do the job? if so will i be able to turn it off and on?

if MVW is not able to do it, will DVD lab pro be able to do it?

    nope.

this is a simple mpeg editor and not an authoring program. When you save this file it will mix all audio tracks together.

is this a commentary you are wanting to put over the movie or do you have the commentary already in a .wav/.mp3?

You will need to make sure the commentary track is as long as the movie and that it is sync'ed up properly. What you might want to do is extract the actual movie soundtrack, reduce the volume of the main movie audio and then lay your commentary over it. Save that file seperately..compress to AC3 or whatever.

Next you need to use an authoring program that supports multiple audio tracks. I know Adobe Premiere and Sony DVD Architect do..dvd lab probably does as well..i'm sure someone can verify. But you will basically have to add the commentary as a second audio track in the authoring application.
