  1. Hi..I have this problem :
I have acquired from Usa,a box with Earth2 sci-fi series and obviously the audio track is English and the video Ntsc.
I live in Italy, and this box is not available in pal version with italian audio track, but I have the recordings of all episode ,in vhs tape.
Now I have tryied to capture my italian audio from vhs,and re-syncronize this audio with the Ntsc track, without success.
If I syncronize the track to the start of the episode, after 10 min. the syncro is out...
    Any idea for help-me ?

  2. Hi-

You might try and slow it down it from PAL length to NTSC length using the PAL->NTSC (25000 to 23976) Preset in BeSweet, and then synchronoze it with the start.

Extract your audio stream from your Italian capture.

You need to identify two distinct moments at the start and end of the video where sync can easily be matched i.e a close up of lip movement and speech. It's useful to have a program that will let you move through the video stream frame by frame while hearing the audio - Vegas is good for this, but most pro editors will allow this. At this point the audio will not be in sync so you will have to adjust the move the audio stream to make the audio and video in sync for each point separately:

    i.e. (where V = video stream, A = audio stream)

The start is in sync but the end is out of sync:

    VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV
    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.......

The start is out of sync but the end is in sync:

    VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV
    ........AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

(the audio stream may be longer than the video, but you get the idea )

Next you need to stretch/shrink the audio to the exact duration of the video stream between these two points using Goldwave (there's a guide on the forum somewhere) and adjust the pitch accordingly. REMEMBER, THE VIDEO PROPERTIES DO NOT CHANGE - YOU ARE CHANGING THE AUDIO DURATION TO MATCH THE VIDEO.

You will then get a stream like this:

    VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV
    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

You may need to make minute adjustments of one or two frames to get this exact, but since this will be dubbed it probably won't matter.

What you're left with is a video clip with italian audio from the first word to the last. If you want to be fancy, you can then add the opening and ending credits from the original source and get one final clip with music/credits and Italian dialogue

  5. Ok friends, work perfectly!
I have used "Magix Video Deluxe 2005" for stretch and resync my Italian track, with the Ntsc video track.
Next I have imported all my tracks into dvdLabpro for authoring... all working fine!
Special thank's to "rhegedus" and "manono" for their precious help. Regards,
