If a person was going to put together a kit to work on sick PC's..what software and hardware woul dmake up your kit?..

The software part of your answer would be quite extensive. Most hardware manufacturers have their own suite of analysis tools.
As far as hardware i'd say a basic kit should have two or three phillips head screwdrivers, a long handled small flathead screwdriver, a short handled large flathead screwdriver, a pair of pliers, anti-static wristband, a pair of tweezers and/or needle nose pliers, a soft bristled brush, an IC extractor, an exacto knife, a pair of wire cutters, a hex key set.
You may also want to invest in a PCI Mobo Diagnostic tool, a power supply tester, and a volt meter. Another good investment is assorted cheap parts. parts that work that is. -
i see loads of "sick" pc's. do you mean sick due to malware all over the pc?
