Using Divx 6 converter to encode a 2.4 gig mp4 (h264) to a standard
divx 2 pass home theatre file, has been encoding now for 36 hours and is only 82 percent done.
Ridiculously slow on my dual 2.5 gig Mac. Is it because of the file I chose to encode or is divx always slow to encode? All I want to do is make a video to
play on my standalone divx player.
Any other options? I'd like to try ffmpegx if it is any faster but when I tried using it to convert to xvid it went pretty quick but wouldn't play on my divx player. Other xvids have worked. Any settings suggestions?

Uncompressing H.264 is very CPU intensive
