Dear All, I am living in Sweden and have a Force 1189S sattelite reciever with 80GB HD. The HD is now getting quite full and I would like to transfer some recorded video to my PC so I can burn it to DVD and possibly convert to DivX. My question is how to do the transfer, the Force reciever only has Scart outputs. My thinking is to get a Scart to S-Video with RCA conectors for the sound converter cable and hook it up to my PC and then capture it with Pinnacle Studio 9. How much quality will I loose by doing this? Will the reslut be worth the hassle? Thanks in advance!

You shouldn't loose much if any quality...depending on the quality of your cables. It will be time consuming though, as all the files have to be recorded in real time. Then authored and burned to DVD.

You can also open your PVR, remove the HD, put it on a frame and connect it to your PC using USB 2.0 or firewire. I believe DVR-Studio or PVAStrumento can be used with the force recievers for this task.
