  1. Are there any Dos base programs or commands to erase dvd-rw?

I have a Staples dvd-rw which I would like to try and erase. I can not do this thru WinXp because it locks up Window Explorer and any other program that tries and access the dvd-rw.

I was using the dvd-rw to test a ripped movie, the burning program reported a burn error. It did not say what the problem was. However after that the dvd-rw has become unusable.

So I was looking to see if I could do this from dos.

Try running ImgBurn/DVDDecrypter from the command line with the /ERASE switch

  4. How about CDRecord ProDVD?

It can be used easily with burnatonce, and if you look in the right place (burnatonce FAQ page) you'll find a Free key to use ProDVD.

ImgBurn/DVDDecrypter would still be the easiest.

Yep, I was thinking DVDDecrypter in CL mode also.
    If in doubt, Google it.
