Just curious, what is the technique for taking snap-shots of
    my LCD monitor.. anybody ??

(Today, while at work, MSNBC was airing some nonsense about
how some churches are going the web and/or iPod 'ing, yada yada.
And, they were displaying a pc monitor [LDC] screen, including
some scrolling, and everything was crystal clean, and no color
bleeding or how-ever you describe it, poor quality, from home-
device-type reproduction methods [by people like you and I, for
    instance])

So naturally, I was curious, and wanted to attempt this with my
dig camera (below) but was not successful - yet

I have the Kodak Easyshare C330 digital camera, and was trying
some experiments, but I cannot seem to match it like they do
on TV. I have it on a tripod (ok, a box) so to keep it still,
and I set it for 2sec delay, so no hand shakes to taint pic.

    - Does anybody have any suggestions please ?

    Thanks,

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

  3. Vhelp, what sort of quality are you after? Can you post an example of what you are not happy with?

    @ conquest10

your pic looks ok, but there is no detail.. and blury. But, fwiw, your
pic showed better resemblence than any of mine

Well, it's hard for me to describe, in terms of quality.
I will see what I can do to come up with something for you to
see. It's really pretty bad though, for pc monitor screens

    Thanks,

  5. If you get too close you can get the moire (screen wire) effect. Do you have truetype enabled?

taken with auto settings - note the "bumps" moire effect.

No. Mine does no come close to yours. But, thanks for the
heads-up on the moir effect. I'll keep that in mind for next
    time.

    Houston, we have a problem..

My camera just stopped working. RaTsZ.

I'm so frustrated. I just about 35 pictures (magazine, InStyle)
and it kept shutting off on me. And, now I can't even see these
on my computer because I did not download them yet. I was almost
finished with this battery of tests..

I'll report this nonsense (CON) in my other post..

what you are talking about are two very different things. taking stills and video of an lcd are very different. and plus, msnbc uses video equipment that costs more than a house, so you cant compare that to consumer models.

    Thanks guys, for posting back.

Regarding the camera's failure last night ...

Rather than duplicate posts, you can read my updated news on
my current experiences on this and other items of review, under
    references, below.

    @ Conquest10.., that's a good/better photo

I got something *closer*, but not sure is worth posting. Maybe I
should, so that others can see what this dig camera is capable of,
    or not.

@ sitlet.., no doubt, you are correct. But, I thought it coudn't
    hurt to try.

Just curious but why not just ctrl+prnt scrn????? You'd get tons higher resolution with no distortion plus the whole screen.

Yes. I know about that method, and then some.. even coded up tool
    for this
. But, I'm curious and exploring other avenues. When I
first got my dig camera, I thought about it, and investigated it.

Haven't you ever tried something, though it was prob uncessasary..
maybe out of curiosity or something, and then later, found yourself
*engolfed* in it, and refuse to stop till you figured it out ?

As for me, this has since, turned into a project.. just because..
