lately i couldnt burn any dvd using my hp burner that came with the system ... does that mean that i have to buy a new one to replace it

Does the light come on? Will it read a cd or dvd? What messages do you get when you try and burn a dvd? Have you tried a different dvd media brand? Does your computer recognise the dvd player? Is ATA/UDMA on or off? Is DMA enabled? Have you tried new ASPI drivers? etc.
