Hello,
Can someone please tell me if it's necessary with H.264 encoded videos to deinterlace interlaced footage (for example resolution 640x512 for PAL)? With Sorenson 3 Pro I have experimented that it's not needed, but looks like the new H.264 doesn't look very good if encoding directly the interlaced video.
Additionally, which software is the best for encoding H.264? So far I've been trying with Quicktime Player, but I'm sure there are some better options.
Thanks a lot!

The specs allow for interlaced content, however x264 at least doesn't support it and that is what I would recommend for encoding.
Quicktime has one of the worst AVC implimentations out. The encoding speeds, at least under windows are just not acceptable.
