    does anyone know of any good shareware programs that i can use to convert wmv video files into a compatible format for my ipod video.i know the iod supports several file formats,mpeg 4 being one of them.

    and if it doesn't support wmv, convert the wmv to avi first with something like stoik video converter.

    converted wmv to mpeg4 in 2 passes but cant move the file in itunes or the ipod?ive been trying to drag the file over,is there another way i need to do this?do i have to deactivate DRM rights for the ipod.

    Hi,
    Are you sure your finished mp4 is within spec for the iPod?? The resolution limits for .mp4 files are 480x480 or 230400 Pixels in total, video bitrate no greater than 2500 kbps and audio no greater than 160 kbps. Try playing your file in Quicktime and choose view movie info from the menu and you can check the specs.

    yes its within spec,managed to transfer in the files eventually.
