how long will it take

l have some movie tape on my panasonic dv which is about 1 hour long, can someone tell me how long would it take to capture and put onto disc.Does it depend on what software you , are some faster than others.Also a 1 hour movie captured and saved on the computer, will this take alot of room up.

If it's DV it transfers at 1:1, the playing time of the tape. There's really nothing you can do about that. DV uses a little over 13GB for an hour in the computer.

As far as converting it to another format, such as MPEG-2 for a DVD, that depends on the program used, the settings and mostly the speed of your CPU.
