I'm trying to use DVDAuthorGUI to author my wedding video.

I converted the file from AVI to mpeg using AVI2MPG2. I tried to use the file in DVDAuthorGUI but I get the following message:

NAV packets not detected in try.mpg. Please demultiplex

I also converted the AVI file to VOB and I still get the same message.

I was wondering what the first part of the message means and if there is an encoding program that will convert the AVI file to a to a VOB file that can be used by DVDAuthorGUI?

    Thanks for you help.

  2. The first message means that you should demultiplex. That is to seperate the audio and video. Keep the prefix names the same, and drag the M2V file, the video file, into DVDAuthor and it will automatically select the audio.

Many methods for Demultiplex, try the Search function.

This is a common requirement for many authoring progs.

Most author progs Create the VOB files, not work with them.
