I have an avi which YAAI says is XVID MPEG4, when i play the file in any of my media players i get video but no sound. WMP says it cannot download an appropriate codec.
Does anyone know which codec i need to install or reinstall?

I have tried WMP,VLC,Nero Showtime all to no avail, I know there is an audio track because virtualdubmod finds an audio stream but says it is an unknown.

    Peace

Load the AVI in YAAI again to see what audio codec is used. XviD is a video codec, and irrelevant in this case.

YAAI doesn't give me an audio codec, I get bitrate, sample rate ands so on, it tells me Wave Type:8193 if that helps.

Tried AVICodec and it easily found the problem, i had to download ac3filter1.02atest8. I already have AC3filter on my system but it may have become corrupt(it has happened before) or is old.
    Anyway the problem is solved.

    Thanks to jimmalenko and mats.hogberg.

    PEACE.
