Hi everyone![]()
I ripped a DVD using SmartRipper 2.41, then burnt everything (.d2v, .vob, etc.) onto a blank DVD for later projects. This was done with WinXP and Nero.
Later I could not copy the .vob file from the above disc onto my other PC hard disc. This PC uses Windows 98SE and also Nero. The error message is "The parameter is not correct."
However, I was able to watch the above .vob file on my PC, using DVD X Player Professional.
So it seems my PC can read & play the DVD but cannot copy file from it.
Would someone please tell me what may be the causes for this failure to copy.
Thanks

Try dvdfab decrypter. Are there any scratches or finger prints on the disc?

Thanks for the suggestion.
I think I found the reason. It's the Operating Systems (Windows 98 v.s. WinXP) and Nero.
My newly burnt disc was created with my PC that uses WinXP.
Using the PC with WinXP, I successfully copied the .vob file from my burnt disc (the disc I created with files ripped by SmartRipper, not the original DVD) onto my hard disc.
When I used the PC with Windows 98 to copy the same .vob file, I got the error message "The parameter is incorrect".
Somehow, I think, when Nero burnt my disc, it burnt the disc in such a way that only Explore in WinXP can copy the file.
Thanks
