Lately I have noticed that when I use Clone DVD2 to ripp DVD files to write on DVD, the VTS_VOB files are saved in Clone DVD Temerary Folder in the hard drive. After writting the saved files on DVD, I chek the Clone DVD Temporary Folder if the ripped VTS file are sitting there or they have been deleted. The Clone DVD Folder shows nothing there. However, when I check the available size of my hard drive, it shows that there is missing size in my hard drive equal to the size of the DVD. I tries to find the hidden DVD ripped files to delete but I could not find any where in the hard drive. I need you guys help to let me know how I find these hidden files in my hard drive in order to delete them? I really need help please. Your prompt help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.![]()

Do a file search for new or last modified files. Hit "Start" > "Find" > "Files and Folders".

I have a suggestion that will either be absolutely useless to you or may be a giant help to you, depending on your comptuer experience. Are you familiar with Unix, at least enough to know commands like "rm"? If so, check out the Cygwin toolkit at http://www.cygwin.com. Cygwin is a Unix-like environment that runs under Windows. I have used the rm command in Cygwin to delete some stubborn files that Windows wouldn't touch. Also, it can be useful sometimes to use a Cygwin shell to see the contents of directories that Windows doesn't want you to see. If you are not familiar with Unix and need a Windows solution, dipstick's suggestion is your best bet.

I have done that File search before I put the post. I even checked the hidden files too. But I couldn't find any file of the size which is hiding somewhere in th computer. After all this I put the post if some one has come accross this type of problem and how he resolved this problem? your suggestion was well taken but I had already done this. If you guys have any further suggestion regarding this problem, I will really appreciate that. Thanks.

If you already know the following, please do not feel insulted. There is very little info to tell us how PC - experienced you might be.
-Is Windows currently set up to display "hidden files"? This is not the default, and you must manually go into the options to turn this on.
-Have you re-started your PC? Most stuff in temporary folders stays there (even though it may be completely hidden) until the next time you do a shutdown and restart. So, depending, you might check your hard drive stats, and see this "space" is in use (since it is) but this may change after the next time you do a re-start.
-When you did your search, if nothing came up, you should always ask if it is possible to make the search more "general" so you know you did not miss it due to a simpole error in your search methods. Example: I do a search, based on what I think is true of the file size. "Search for all files over 4300MB. Nothing comes up. So, I re-think it. What if I was wrong on the file size. Or, what if the problem is the confusion over MB versus GB versus KB versus bytes, and the fact that this is "reported" inaccurately by Windows all of the time... 1000 KB does not equal 1 MB, for example. So, I try a different approach. I search all files that end in ".VOB" by typing in the following--> *.VOB
In that search, the asterisk is the wildcard, so it should show ALL files which end in a period, followed immediately by a "V," followed by an "O", and then followed by a "B."
Have you tried this?
And, at the risk of really insulting you, have you double-checked the recycle bin, to make sure that there are not huge files in there which equal the amount of space you are talking about?
Just a few thoughts,
-Bruce
