I have an all in wonder VE and i'm using composite to output to the TV (video out). I enable overscan. It works fine, except that it takes off more from the left then it does right, so things in the center look too much on the right. Does anyone know why?

  2. Because your TV overscans unevenly. That type of problem is why overscan exists. TVs (especially in the old days) can't keep the picture centered, they can't keep the picture a fixed size, they have bad linearity (espeically near the edges), there's often crap at the edge of the picture, etc. Overscan hides all these problems.

Are you using full screen mode?

All the adjustments are in the Display Properties - ATI advance settings

I don't use overscan, I just adjust the H and V frame to the edges of the monitor.

When I do that, the image will stretch until a certian point(a black bar), after stretching it more, it will just think its going off the TV but its being masked behind a black bar. Sorry I dont know how to explain better.

Mine doesn't do that. Maybe someone with the VE can respond.

  9. Play a movie before going to the ATI's video properties dialog. Then another button will appear below the Overscan button -- called Video. Try turning that on.

  11. You might also have to be in Theater mode. In Theater mode you can play a video in a window on the main desktop but the video will be full screen on the TV (you won't see the desktop on the TV while the video is playing).
