SageTV creates mpg2 files at low compression rates. For me it's about 4GB per hour so for a 30minute clip I want to email, I still end up at 1GB which is way too large. How can I get the highest possible compression for this file and what is the best software to use to do that?

Virtualdubmod or Windows Movie Maker.
Open the mpg, select your compression codec, and let it run.
For email, WMM would be better.Cheers, Jim
