  1. Hello all,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I did not find one for all-in-one DV to DVD conversion.

I am searching for a all-in-one tool or workflow for converting my
    DV home movies to DVD.

    I would like to
    - edit the DV AVI(s),
    - add transitions (fade in, fade out),
    - add chapters (but also auto chapter detection via datecode),
    - add subtitles which can be switched on and off (I would like to add the DV datecode)
    - create a simple DVD menu
    - author the DVD

    I have tried
    - Magix Video Deluxe / Movie Edit pro (it seems to be great and not too expensive, but has no subtitle support)
    - Sony Vegas movie studio (no subtitles either)
    - tempGenc dvd author (no real transitions, only cut and chapter edit)
    - GUI for DVD author (it has multiple avi import, but not to chapters, only to titles)
    - DIKO (no edit features)

So none is really doing everything. I would spend up to 100$, not more for the software since it's a hobby.

Do you have a solution or can share your own workflow/tools?
    Thanks!

Can try DVD MovieFactory 4 - DISC CREATOR Edition ($65 for download). Go for the 30day trial.

  3. Thanks for the tip, I will give it a try.
However, I did not see subtitle support on the Ulead dvd movie factory website. Do you know if it has subtitle support, especially DV datecode?

I was wondering if DVD Moviefactory supported subtitles too. It does but only if you get the Disc Creator version as pchan suggested.
