There are lots of certifiable experts that post here. Does that count?

    What is your intention? Employment?

In workspace, editing is mostly an apprentice craft where you join as a gofer and work up to editor. Most educational programs are platform specific (e.g. fcp, avid, premiere, vegas). Make sure you are studying on the right platform for your employment goals.

Best general advice. Figure out where you want to work and ask the boss what training would impress him/her. Then do it.

That will get you the gofer position and access to the equipment. Then you work on your demo reel off hours.

The highest paid positions are for the expensive proprietary systems (e. g. high end AVIDs, Quantel, Discrete, On-line editing, color correction specialists, etc.). Each manufacturer has a school, but best to have your employer pay the training bill.
