Hi, was wondering if anybody knew of any tools that would allow me to create a DVD that allows the user to view the same movie clips in differing sequences.

I'm authoring a DVD from an old TV show on VHS that includes the commercials. The old commercials are entertaining themselves, so I've kept them in my capture. I'd like to be able to create a menu with 2 timeline options, one with commercials, and one that skips the commercial clips. Yes, I could do this by including 2 different clips, one with and one without the commercials, but I don't have enough room on a single DVD for that unless I reduce my bitrate. The DVD authoring software I've tried doesn't allow multiple timelines like this. I would appreciate it if anybody could suggest any that might, shareware ideally.

    Thanks.

    Hi dickypramkus,

If it were me, I'd have each show and each commercial in it's own MPEG file.

Then author with two tracks: one track would contain all the TV shows back to back, and the second track would contain the TV shows with the commercials arranged as you wish.

I would imagine that most (any) authoring tool would do this. I use TMPGEnc DVD Author - I know this will do it, as will DVDLab - probably others, as long as they allow the use of multiple files.

    Hope that helps.

    Carpe diem.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.
