  1. So I have 2 16x9 .ts files i want to merge. i extract the m2v and ac3 files from each and merge them. now i've got merge.mpeg and merge.ac3. now i'm ready to encode merge.mpeg to dvd resolution in tmpeg. i load it up but now the aspect has changed from 16x9 to 4x3. now i can't encode the movie anamorphically. how do i change the aspect back to 16x9 without having to reencode so it will appear in tmpeg properly? is there some program i can load it in to where i can just tell it to change the AR permanently to 16x9? it seems somewhere in the demux and remux process that the AR was changed. any tips?

  3. Hi-

just tried restream and the vid is still stuck in 4:3.

If you used ReStream to change it from 4:3 to 16:9, then it's now 16:9. Some players will honor the DAR flag, some will play it at 4:3, unless you change the settings, and some will just play it at 1:1 (720x480, or whatever the resolution is) . If the plan is to make a DVD from it, I'd suggest just going ahead and authoring it and then play it as a DVD in PowerDVD or in your standalone.

  4. When I opened the file in restream it recognized it as a 16:9 image. That's wierd. Why isn't it showing up in tmpeg as that? It's a 16:9 image with a 2.25:1 widescreen picture within it, the black bars make it 16:9. It's an anamorphic movie. But it seems to have lost it's anamorphic properties and goes fullscreen all the sudden when i try to reencode it for dvd res. I'm so lost.

  5. Just go to Settings -> Advanced and change the Source Aspect Ratio to 16:9. Then go to Settings -> Video and change the Aspect Ratio to 16:9.
