  1. I converted a couple of VHS tapes to DVD for a lady and made her 3 copies of the DVD which all worked fine. I left the Video_ts folder on my hard drive in case she wanted more copies. I now tried to burn another DVD however received an error.

I thought I would simply re-author the video using TMPGE DVD Author however when I tried to access the video I received an error message that the Video_ts.IFO file couldn't be opened. I checked the folder and for some reason the Video_TS.IFO file is no longer in the folder. All of the VOB files are still there and appear to be about the correct size so would appreciate is someone can tell me how I can salvage the video.

The second problem I have is trying to author a DVD using TMPGE and importing video from a DVD-RW disk. The disk was finalized and plays on both the recorder as wel as PowerDVD on my computer however when I try to load the video in TMPGE there are no titles listed to select from. Again the video is on the DVD but for some reason TMPGE does not see the files.

I tried loading it using Ulead Workshop however it loads each chapter as a separate file even though the file is one file on the DVD-RW disk, and when played there is a slight pause between clips where the chapter markers used to be. If played directly from the DVD-RW disk with PowerDVD there is no pause at the chapter markers.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Thank you

Well I followed the instructions at that link as well as the link provided in one of the posts and it seemed to create the ifo's etc however when I go into TMPGE it and select Get video it doesn't show any titles in that folder.

Another way to create the ifo which always works for me is to use dvdfab. It's not free, it's trialware.
There is an option called other tools on the open menu. Then select Create Video Manager.

Don't expect to see any menus or anything it just starts the first play but the disc can be played and input to programs like DVDShrink etc...

  6. If you are missing only the VIDEO_TS.IFO, but the VIDEO_TS.BUP is still there, you can simply rename .bup to .ifo (this should be the same file as backup)

Thank you, I didn't know that.

I just checked and the VIDEO_TS_BUP is also missing. I don't understand what happened to these files.

    Thanks again
