    I like using Studio 9.4 (with updates), but have the apparent infamous AV sync issue. In virtualdub, I have no synch issues, but instead have green color problems in preview and playback.




    Can someone give me some pointers in layman's terms? I am getting lost on all the tech.

    Things to try to fix sync issues are:
    1. Make sure that you capture to a seperate HD, not the one your OS is on. And, not just to a seperate partition.
    2. Defrag the HD before you try to capture.
    3. Shut down any unnecessary applications that are running. If necessary, try booting up into safe mode to capture.
    4. Firewire is the most foolproof capture method, followed by usb2.0. I wouldn't even try other methods.
    5. If you are still having sync issues, capture the video by itself, then capture the audio by itself, then join the two in the editing stage.
