    Hi

I got 2 avi files that Im trying to merge with a joiner but they have different sampling rates, which says may cause problems. Avi 1 has a 16914.00000 rate and avi 2 has a 16900.00000.

What tool can I use to change the sampling rate and what rate are both my avi's supposed to be, to be correct and avoid error's???

    Cheers

    monkeyballz,

I don't know of too many tools that will merge/join two disparate audio/video streams. In audio and video, 'close' usually isn't enough.

I'd recommend reenconding to the same rates and then merge/join. Probably could do both steps (reencode, join) at the same time. Virtualdub should be able to help you if you stay in .avi territory.
    Have a good one,

You can only correctly cut/join avi's from the same encoding or capture session so that metadata from the final file's header (encoder type, pixel resolution, VBR settings and other important things) allow to properly playback any part of the final video. Some join utilities won't show error messages (VirtualDub does if something is wrong) but you can find problems in the end.
