open the file with gspot and see what codecs are required.

Codec packs can do more harm than good. Figure out what you need and get that.

ok i tryed gspot and in the container it says
    File type:quicktime (.mov/QT)
    Mime type:video/quicktime

then in the proposed codec solutions and tests box it says
rendering failed. the following error is reports by direct show
0x80040295 an operation fail due to a certification faiure.

the video i have it worked before my computer crashed on me. I had them back up on a cdr and now i want to watch them again and now they wont work. for the codec pack it was the same pack. I installed before for them to play and it worked. Now they updated the pack and it wont work. so does anyone have any other idea's? i installed quicktime 7 again to see if that works. and it doesnt work.

  9. It sounds like Nero has kidnapped the file extension. You may need to go in Nero and unregister that extension. At that point, it should work fine.

Kidnapped....that's funny but the truth. Just like WMP kidnapping Power DVD's codec. Yes stay away from bundle codec deals. Install only what you need as already suggested.
