What's the quickest way to cut an xvid or divx in half?

I want to take an xvid or divx (or any other avi actually) and simply create two or more halves.

I don't want to wait for eterneity while a program I use rencodes, decodes, codes etc.

    Thanks.

Try virtualdub. I believe if you use fast recompress it will not reencode though I may be wrong.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  3. You could try Virtualdub as yoda313 suggested or VirtualDubMod.
Set both video and audio to "Direct Stream Copy".

Fast recompress as the name suggests still recompresses. As somebodeez said, you want direct streaming.
