Who on earth advised you to purchase that software? I have been using Nero 6 and have not had a failed dual layer burn yet. (knock on Wood) Record now use to be owned by 'Vertis" and was bought by the folks at Sonic.

Who on earth advised you to purchase Nero 6? I have been using several different burn programs for years and they all work fine. Some may be better for certain things than others. I don't think you could honestly say that any one is better than all others overall for everything.

  5. It is automatic but you still set the parameters for the operation. Open the program and click on the little wrench at the upper right, just below the CLOSE symbol. Go to the general settings and then to advanced right under that. There it gives you the writing speed for either CD or DVD. There are numerous other settings that you can apply. Good luck!

I believe there are two kinds of people in the world:

    1. Those who ask, "Who on Earth advised you to [insert action here]?"

    and

    2. Those who don't.

  7. it also depends on what sonic recordmax version you have. For example I have their 29$ version, most options are greyed out or just not available at all (such as selecting the recording drive speed). It sounds more so from the original post that the one being used is the $20 something version.
