I am copying MY dvd's onto my computer with CloneDVD2 as data files. I then use autoGK to convert the vob files to avi. Most of my movies work fine, but then a few of them the audio is off. I am playing the avi files through media player classic v6.4.8.7. I have the Xvid codec installed (I know I do b/c mpc wouldn't play the avi file without it, i tried). In one movie the audio is off by about 192ms. I want to use YAAI for its sumplicity so I open it and it gives me the avi file info. I then click on the "Sync Audio" tab and an error pops up stating "The operation cannot be performed because the pins are not connected. ($80040209)". I am not sure why this is.

These are all of the audio codecs i have installed according to CodecInstaller:

    - - 6.5 - quartz.dll

I am new to ripping dvds so I am trying to keep this as easy as possible. I do not want to have to set the audio delay every time i want to have a movie play, it would get annoying very fast. Please help with any suggestions. I am using Koepi's Xvid codec from from a link in doom9's forum.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a bunch,
    Tony

    Hi Tony,

I fixed this problem by also installing Koepi's standalone XviD
decoder also available from his site >

Thanks for the fast reply, but that is the Xvid codec i use to get media player classic to even play Xvids.

Could there be something wrong with YAAI? It's not an install package so I couldn't gone wrong with that anywhere.

Install the XviD codec (includes of course latest encoder/decoder),
then install older standalone decoder - replacing new decoder.

YAAi has a problem with the newer decoder.

Where would I get the older decoder? I have the latest version of autoGK (v2.2). Does that include the latest decoder? Thanks for all the help.

    It's on Koepi's XviD page

    http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml

You must have missed the link.

The older decoder is here >

It worked, thanks. But now the problem is that the preview in YAAI does not have any sound coming out. The YAAI player has valume all the way up, and my system volume is up (i can hear the tone when you adjust the volume slider, plus i can hear it when opened with media player classic).

Strange that it plays in Media player classic but not in YAAI,
though Media player classic does handle a lot on stuff internally
itself. Try installing FFDShow (may have to install old XviD
decoder again over the top of this.

Can you hear audio when playing the files through Windows
media player? If not, You do not have the necessary audio codecs
required for playback. Media player classic is using it's built-in audio
    support.

I just tired playing in windows media player and it didn't have sound. It needs the 'tag 2000' codec.

Ok, got the AC3 filter to take care of the tag 2000 codec.

I did a little testing with YAAI and it works. The only problem is that when I save the changes to the avi file, the changes show up when i play the file in windows media player (sound is in sync), but when i try and open the file in media player classic, the changes I made are not shown (the delay is back). Is there some link with YAAI and media player classic that is not being made?

    Thanks.
