  1. I hope this makes sense. I have a DVD which has been mastered both with an AC3 and DTS soundtrack, but unfortunately there is a significant delay between what happens onscreen to when you actually hear the sounds themselves. I believe that the entire soundtrack has just simply been shifted across whilst it was being entirely remastered from the original elements (this was either accidentally done in the transfer or even recorded in this way at the time).

I would like to know what program can easily change (and possibly even allow you to preview the time delay changes you make before you commit) the AC3/DTS soundtracks around within the existing DVD (without re-encoding them of course). I don't mind if I have to cut off the 0.2 seconds on whichever end, just as long as the audio and video elements are not re-encoded in the process of this time-shifting. Thanks heaps.

You're basically looking for an authoring app to reauthor the dvd with an audio delay. Those won't re-encode if the input material conforms to dvd specs. You also want something that will support both audio formats.

I know dvdlab could do it straight from the vobs, but it's not the easiest program to mess with on the fly. It takes a little orientation time to get the hang of it. Plus, I'm not sure how to keep your existing menu structure.

There must be other programs out there that can also do this, but I'm sorry I'm not familiar with any of them.

You could demux them back to video and audio streams and use DVD Lab Pro's delay feature to shift them. There is also AC3 Delay Corrector, but I think you need to have a demuxed stream for it as well.
