I have a bunch of Anime episodes I am trying to put onto DVD and they are in OGM format which I havent worked with yet.
I was trying to follow this guide
https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=222005
But I'am having problems with TMPGenc. I tried going over the TMPGEnc problems and tips guide.
After I rename the ogm file to avi and open it in TMPGenc preview window it looks all distorted and bright green. The file looks the same when I try to play it in windows media player but it works perfectly fine when I play it in VLC media player.
I have tried downloading the OGG Vorbis DirectShow filter/ OGM Codec, that didnt fix it. I have tried increasing the priorty of the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader setting, that didnt fix it.
When I open the file in Gspot it says some codecs are not installed but I dont know what else there is to download.
Also, when I try to open an OGM file in virtualdubmod a warning pops up saying "Couldn't locate decompressor for Format 'XVID' (unknown). Virtual Dub requires a video for windows (vfw) compatible codec to decompress video. Directshow codecs, such as those used by windows media player, are not suitable. Only 'direct stream copy' is avaliable for this video."
What codecs do I need to get this to work?

TMPGEnc will use the same codecs/filters as TMPGEnc which will use direcshow automatically since that is the only way it can open ogm's.
VLC on the other hand uses internal decoders.
Looking at your graph I notice two things.
1. Elecard MPEG2 Demultiplexer is being loaded for some odd reason.
2. You are using the DivX decoder which makes sense since you don't have XviD installed.
First thing I would suggest is that you download and install a recent XviD build. Still doesn't mean that XviD will be used for decoding since dshow works on a priority based system. -
Installing Xvid didnt seem to help either.
Would reinstalling all my codecs help maybe? -
Under renderer it shows 4cc: divx, but according the above info the file contains XviD. Could be that the MPEG2 demultiplexer is changing the fourcc. Whole thing is very odd. Why is an MPEG2 splitter being used instead of an ogm one and how the hell does that even work?
I would unregister elecard mpeg2 demultiplexer and see if that helps.
Could also try Media Player Classic. It has a built in ogm splitter. All the other filters should be the same though. If it plays ok in MPC, then I would say that the splitter is the problem. -
I had a simular issue with useing OGM file, but this free proggy worked like a charm and allowed me to use a useable AVI file. https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=OGM_to_AVI

Apparently I cant have my cake and eat it too :[
And the avi file that OGMtoAVI produces also crashes TMPGenc.
I'm getting really frustrated
