  1. Hi,
I use TMPGEnc to make my mpgs for DVD. I have been trying to use GUI for dvdauthor, but it gives an error. Does it have anything to do with multicomplexing or whatever.
    Does TMPGEnc multicomplexed videos?
By the way, what does it mean?
    Thanks

If you click on the 'Glossary' button to the left you can learn that "Multiplex" means "Joining video and audio to one file. Also called "Mux".

    TMPGEnc will 'multiplex' and 'demultiplex'.

although i have never used GUI for dvdauthor, it appears that it does not accept elementary audio in wav format. TMPGEnc can output your mpeg2 as "program" stream (muxed audio and video) or "elementary" audio and video streams (separate streams). in the "elementary" stream mode, you can choose to have the audio output as mp2 or as wav. you should choose the elementary stream mode with your output selected as m2v+mp2 separate streams. GUI for dvdauthor should accept those.
I said I'll be done in a minute. I meant a Microsoft minute.

  4. Exactly!

One more point: Make sure the mp2 audio stream has 48 kHz sampling rate (use a DVD template in tmpgenc).

BTW It is possible to use lpcm ('wav') audio with GfD, but it has to be in motorola byte order (big endian) and without a riff/wave header. Therefore it is not directly supported. In order to use it, you need to 'premultiplex' your elementary streams with the commandline mplex and that's nothing for beginners...
