  2. Give us more details about what you attempt to do (parameters), and also about your system (hardware, OS).

This message can come up when your capturing device cannot capture at the desired resolution, for example...

Sounds to me like your capture card driver isn't properly installed. This is not a Virtualdub problem.

  4. I got it to work after changing the resolution to lower, it was on full screen. I am not able to see SVCD resolution in VirtualDub program. I would like to capture the avi in SVCD format but there is no SVCD resoultion, may be is because of my capture card(Pinnacle PCTV) or is it some thing I am doing wrong. I am following the instruction in "How to capture" section

  5. did you turn on overlay when capturing? if so try preview (under video) instead.

  6. I am using PCI PCTV, also (NTSC). I can capture up to 640x480.
I capture @480x480 for my home videos (Hi8), and @352x480 for recording from VHS.
    My system is PIII, 800MHz.

Make sure that you force preview instead of overlay, and you may want to hide view during capture.

  7. Since I am not familiar with VirualDub and first time using it can you guys let me know what to do exactly. I try to follow everything in "How To convert section" but did not get option for SVCD resolution or even good VCD option. All I see is 320 x 240 option and there was anothe option 640...something full which would not let me capture and gave me error.

    Thank in advance

  8. When I use Virtualdub I set it at 640 x 480 in the format option then force it to 480 x 480 in the user defind option. Right now I find the PIC codec to be the best compression. I set the frame rate at 29.970 for my purpose but lower it to 23.976 if I get a lot of frames being dropped. I also set the sound to CD quality, caputre to a different drive than the system drive and set it to preview mode.

  9. I am able to do one thing now after going to video and preview instead of overlay. How I can force to get 480x480 resolution. Where I exactly go to make changes. When I type in the field and say ok it would not work.

    Thank you
