I experimented with the cutting of a MPEG 1 -VCD ready movie.
i used TMPGE and it did the job fine although it took about 45 mins for the whole process.
I also used a freebie d/l called File Split(where you simply enter the Mb you want to split in 2.
It also worked no problem and took about 5 mins.
My question is,is there any reason why I can't use the "hack,and divide" method or is TMPGE the way to go.
Was I just lucky that it worked?

I Havent used Filesplit. The 2 that I exclusively use r Tmpge & Virtual Dub,Did file split actually give you 2 working halves?If so,I guess you found a good ,fast program(Filesplit)

I prefer to split on the 100th of a second by choosing the exact frame to split. Funny enough after having done about 100 movies I noticed there's mostly always a natural break on near the exact middle of the movie.
